My doctoral research focused on how trauma impacts young women's embodiment, and this deep exploration of the subject has significantly enriched my ability to work with this demographic. Understanding the complex ways in which trauma can impact individuals has given me unique insights into the challenges young women face in navigating their self-image, physical experiences, and emotional well-being.
This research allows me to approach therapy with a heightened sensitivity to the impact of trauma on how young women relate to their bodies and themselves. I am better equipped to support clients in understanding and untangling the often-overlooked ways trauma manifests physically—whether through tension, disconnection, or discomfort in their own skin—and how these experiences influence their sense of identity and self-worth.
By integrating this knowledge into my practice, I can offer a more informed, compassionate, and holistic approach that addresses both the psychological and embodied aspects of healing. Whether it’s through exploring the somatic experiences linked to trauma or helping clients reconnect with and reclaim their bodies, my research helps me create a space where young women can feel understood, supported, and empowered to heal in a way that is deeply personal and affirming.

I have also conducted research focused on the unique experiences of young men in therapy, giving me deep insight into the challenges they face—both in seeking help and in navigating personal growth. Many young men struggle with societal expectations around masculinity, making it harder for them to express vulnerability or seek support. This research has helped me create a therapy space where you feel understood, safe, and heard.
By understanding the specific barriers young men encounter, I tailor my approach to resonate with their needs—whether it’s managing anxiety, building self-esteem, or coping with life transitions. My research empowers me to offer effective, empathetic support.
